Monjasa Enhances West African Operations with New Tankers

With this double acquisition, Monjasa now controls more owned tonnage than chartered vessels for the first time since its establishment in 2002. The Monjasa fleet now comprises 16 owned and 15 time-chartered vessels. The Monjasa Rover replaces the Monjasa Thunder (19,991 DWT), which was recently repositioned from West Africa to the Panama Canal. The Monjasa Hunter introduces new capabilities to the fleet, with its length of less than 110 meters allowing it to operate alongside oil rigs and platforms, thus enhancing flexibility for offshore oil and gas operators from the Gulf of Guinea to Namibia.The tankers were received in Riga, Latvia, and Istanbul, Turkey, respectively. Both vessels underwent dry docking for renewal surveys, name changes, and hull blasting and painting to match the Monjasa fleet design.
