IHB Shipping Secures Deal for Three New Ultramax Bulkers with Chinese Builder

63 Plus design and an optional newbuild, with approval expected in July this year. The first newbuild is priced at $35.15 million, excluding additional works assigned during construction. The remaining two vessels, set for delivery in 2028, each carry a price tag of $34.6 million, according to the parent company. These new vessels will be built by the shipbuilding division of state-run machinery manufacturer Sumec. This fleet renewal marks a strategic move for IHB Shipping , which currently operates two supramax and two handy bulkers, all constructed at IHB’s Bulyard shipyard, with the last order placed in 2010.The acquisition reflects IHB Shipping's commitment to modernizing its fleet and enhancing its operational capabilities.
