Gulf LNG Services has taken delivery of the Laguna Gulf, the first vessel in a planned 13-tug series intended for ship-assist and terminal-support operations. The tractor tug was designed by Robert Allan Ltd. and built by Sterling Shipyard. The Laguna Gulf is configured for handling duties at LNG terminals, supporting vessel maneuvering and docking operations. Its delivery
marks the initial milestone in a larger newbuild program that will see twelve additional sister vessels constructed for Gulf LNG Services under the same design and build partnership. Robert Allan Ltd. is a naval architecture firm known for tug and workboat designs, while Sterling Shipyard has been contracted to construct the full series. The remaining tugs in the program are currently in various stages of construction, with further deliveries expected as the fleet expansion continues. The project reflects continued investment in specialized harbor and terminal support tonnage to serve LNG shipping activity in the Gulf region. Additional details on the delivery schedule for the remaining twelve vessels have not yet been disclosed.
