Jiangsu-based Hantong Shipyard has secured contracts worth up to USD 820 million for four Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) and up to four large bulk carriers. Yasa Shipping signed with Xinhantong Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, a Hantong subsidiary, for four 319,000 DWT VLCCs priced at
approximately USD 125 million each, totaling around USD 500 million, with deliveries expected in 2029. Taiwan's U-Ming Marine Transport, through its Singapore subsidiary, ordered four 211,000 DWT Newcastlemax bulk carriers at USD 77-80 million each, totaling up to USD 320 million, scheduled for delivery in 2030. These bulk carriers feature new-generation energy-saving designs, including optimized hull lines, scrubbers, shaft generators, biofuel compatibility, and shore power systems to meet future emission regulations. This latest contract reinforces Hantong Shipyard's position in building eco-friendly vessels for global shipping clients.
