The 16,000TEU methanol dual-fuel ultra-large containership N1074 has successfully completed sea trials following outfitting at CSSC Chengxi (Taizhou) Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. in China. Measuring 366 metres in length with a beam of 51 metres, the vessel
is equipped with China’s first domestically produced methanol dual-fuel main engine and supporting systems. It also features an innovative three-dimensional pin-shaped methanol fuel tank arrangement. The ship’s Energy Design Index (EDI) is reported to be more than 50% below the baseline standard, indicating high energy efficiency and reduced emissions. N1074 is slated to enter the South China–US Southwest SEA express service route, contributing environmentally friendly capacity to the expanding green shipping corridor network.
