Longship Group has announced  advancements in its newbuilding program, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable shipping. The company recently celebrated the successful delivery of two new vessels, the LONGSUN and LONGSKY. Constructed by GS Projects and Ship and Steelbuilding (SaS) in Waterhuizen, these "GS Eco-Freighter 3700" vessels are fully financed and have already begun service under a three-year time charter agreement.
In addition to these deliveries, Longship Group has placed an order for two more eco-friendly general cargo vessels, named LONGSEA and LONGSTAR, with GS Projects and SaS. Scheduled for delivery in the second and third quarters of 2025, these vessels will feature high fuel efficiency and reduced environmental impact, sailing under the Dutch flag. Both are secured with financial backing and will operate under five-year time charter agreements.
Looking ahead, Longship Group prepares for the delivery of LONGEARTH, set for January 2025 from Atlas Shipyard in Turkey. Following the design and efficiency standards of her predecessors, LONGERA and LONGEON, LONGEARTH will employ a state-of-the-art diesel-electric propulsion system and optimized hull design to achieve ultra-low fuel consumption. This addition will further advance the company's sustainable fleet expansion.
These initiatives are part of Longship Group's ongoing strategy to minimize environmental impact and carbon emissions, strengthening its leadership position in sustainable shipping practices across the industry.
