CSSC Shipyards Experience Significant Growth and Achieve Milestones in 2024

major contract with QatarEnergy for the construction of 18 large liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, the largest single order of its kind. Hudong-Zhonghua also delivered a remarkable eight LNG carriers within the year, with one vessel, the Greenergy Pearl, completed in December, eight months early. Meanwhile, Jiangnan Shipyard showcased its capabilities by delivering China's first large LNG carrier using Mark III technology, termed Al Shelila. Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding distinguished itself by crossing the 100 million deadweight ton threshold with the delivery of a floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, Jaguar, to SBM Offshore. The company celebrated its 25th anniversary this year and has delivered a total of 579 ships and platforms, achieving an annual completion rate of 27 ships. Shanghai Waigaoqiao also continues its work on China's second large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, following the delivery of the first, Adora Magic City, in 2023. The development of Adora Flora City is progressing well, with completion slated for the end of 2026.
