Everllence has signed a contract with a Turkish shipyard to supply 16 high-speed 175D gensets for four Rampage 6000-DE offshore terminal tugs designed by Robert Allan Ltd. The vessels will be operated by Smit Lamnalco, a Boskalis company, in Guyana, South America, supporting an FPSO fleet in the Stabroek Block through towing, safety, logistics, dynamic positioning and maintenance duties. Each of the four shipsets will be fitted with four gensets: two 12V175D-MEL engines rated at 2,280 kW each and two 16V175D-MEM engines
rated at 2,560 kW each. The first shipset is scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026, with the remaining three following through 2027. Jamie Stewart, Group Tender Manager at Smit Lamnalco, said Everllence was selected for its reliability, technical support and fuel-and-lube-oil efficiency at a competitive commercial cost, factors that, combined with extended overhaul intervals, are expected to maximise in-service time and reduce operational expenditure over the vessels' lifetimes. He added that the mix of 12- and 16-cylinder 175D engines gives the diesel-electric vessels flexibility to run efficiently across different operating modes while providing commonality of equipment and spares. Ruben Fernandez, Head of High-Speed at Everllence, said the order reflects the growing success of the 175D platform in the tug and offshore sectors. The 175D range, available in 12-, 16- and 20-cylinder variants producing 1,500 to 4,400 kW, is designed for offshore support vessels, tugs and other working craft, and is cleared to run on biofuels including FAME and HVO.
