On 8 May 2026, COSCO SHIPPING officially named the OOCL Wisdom, the world’s largest methanol dual-fuel container ship with a capacity of 24,000 TEU, in Nantong, Jiangsu. The vessel was constructed by Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (NACKS), a COSCO SHIPPING shipyard, for OOCL under COSCO SHIPPING Holdings. COSCO SHIPPING Holdings has ordered a total of 70 dual-fuel container vessels, with seven already in operation, supporting both methanol and LNG fuel pathways. This development highlights COSCO SHIPPING’s ongoing commitment to expanding its green fleet and advancing sustainable shipping technologies.
