Greek shipowner SteelShips has confirmed an order for two additional 50,000-dwt product tankers from K Shipbuilding in South Korea, doubling its newbuilding orderbook. The vessels, conventional-fuelled MR clean carriers, are scheduled for delivery in 2028. This expansion reflects SteelShips' increased investment in the MR product tanker segment. The company, led by founder Nicholas Notias, had previously secured orders for similar vessels, and this latest contract reinforces its growth strategy in the tanker market. The newbuildings will be delivered between January and December 2028, contributing to SteelShips' fleet renewal and expansion plans.
