The company has signed an agreement to acquire four 40,000 DWT stainless steel newbuildings as part of its fleet renewal program. The vessels will be constructed by Kitanihon Shipbuilding in Japan, with deliveries scheduled from the first quarter of 2027 through the second quarter of 2029. According to CEO Harald Fotland, these ships will represent the next generation of super-segregators designed for core deep-sea trades. They will feature a modern design and incorporate sails, gate rudders, and other innovative energy-saving technologies aimed at enhancing fuel efficiency. This investment aligns with the company's ongoing efforts to modernize its fleet and improve operational sustainability.
