Guangzhou Shipyard International and CSSC Trading have launched the fourth vessel in a series of 50,000-dwt methanol dual-fuel chemical and product tankers for J.P. Morgan Asset Management. This vessel is part of a six-ship series developed independently by the shipyard, featuring advanced methanol dual-fuel
propulsion, shore power readiness, and rotor sail ready design to reduce carbon emissions. The ship achieved a 99-point score during phase-transition evaluation due to lean management and optimized production. Key equipment across the superstructure, deck, and engine room was installed, tested, and inspected by launch, with overall commissioning at 62%. Major systems including navigation, fire alarm, nitrogen, and ballast water systems passed inspections, while deck machinery and lifesaving equipment completed operational testing. Core systems such as methanol gas detection and autopilot were commissioned, shortening the remaining outfitting period.
