China's Wuhu Shipyard, in collaboration with Sandianshui New Energy Technology, has launched 'Puffer Fish Blue 01' (Hetun Weilan 01), a new cargo vessel designed for inland water operations. The vessel is equipped with six swappable 430kWh 'plug and play' batteries, allowing for continuous operation without the need for pierside charging. Measuring 88.9 meters in length and capable of carrying either 132 standard 20-foot containers or bulk cargo, the vessel showcases a flexible, dual-use design. The project was overseen by the China Classification Society.
