Polsteam Orders New Vessels from Wuhu Shipyard
Polish Steamship Co (PZM), commonly known as Polsteam, has signed a significant newbuilding deal with Wuhu Shipyard in China, contracting the construction of up to six handymax bulk carriers. These 45,000-deadweight-ton vessels are set to expand the company's capabilities in the shipping industry.
With this agreement, Polsteam, a state-owned leader in maritime trade, has increased its number of newbuilds on order in China to a total of nine. This move is part of the company's ongoing strategy for fleet renewal and expansion, aimed at enhancing its service offerings in the competitive bulk shipping market.
The handymax bulk carriers are designed to handle a variety of bulk cargoes, which can include grains, coal, and ores, while being adaptable to different trade routes globally.
