Ibaizabal Group has placed an order for an LNG Bunker Vessel, marking their first entry into this specialized segment of the tanker market. This vessel, which falls under the category of tankers specifically designed for LNG bunkering, will be constructed by Hudong- Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd - CSSC in China.
Scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2028, the vessel will be equipped with GTT MARK III FLEX technology and will use LNG as its fuel type. It is to be noted that Total Energy will operate the vessel, signifying a strategic collaboration between these companies to enhance their LNG capabilities.
The LNG Bunker Vessel will feature dimensions of 135.9 meters in length and 24.5 meters in width, providing a substantial capacity for its specialized operations. This order contributes to the 280-order count currently held by the shipyard, reinforcing its position as a significant player in the shipbuilding industry.
The ship will be constructed with a focus on modern LNG fueling requirements, aligning with the maritime industry's shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. This move by Ibaizabal Group signifies its commitment to advancing its operational capabilities in line with global environmental initiatives.
