VARD Secures Contract for Offshore Subsea Construction Vessel with DFO

this newly contracted vessel, which is equipped for subsea operations, cable installation, and repair activities. The VARD 3 39 design promises enhanced sea-keeping capabilities and environmental efficiency. The vessel will feature advanced features such as a 250 MT active heave compensated offshore crane, an extensive work deck, and facilities for remote-operated vehicles (ROVs). Designed with flexibility in mind, it will also accommodate future modifications for enhanced operational demands. DFO CEO Polin Chen expressed satisfaction with the relationship with VARD, emphasizing the importance of the new order in expanding its service portfolio. VARD CEO Cathrine Kristiseter Marti shared this sentiment, highlighting the continued collaboration as testament to VARD's ability to meet client needs efficiently and reliably. The project will leverage VARD’s integrated value chain for processes from design to delivery. The hull will be built in Romania with outfitting and delivery operations in Norway, scheduled for completion in Q2 2027. The vessel will boast an integrated power and automation system by Vard Electro, underlining its commitment to sustainable and efficient maritime solutions.
