Hensoldt and Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) have announced a strategic partnership to develop advanced maritime technologies. During the IDEX exhibition in Abu Dhabi , the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding to explore joint opportunities in maritime technology, as stated by Hensoldt on February 20. ADSB, a leader in the regional maritime sector, focuses on the design, construction, repair, and maintenance of naval and commercial vessels.
The agreement aims to enhance collaboration between Hensoldt and ADSB in the maritime sector, integrating their respective strengths to advance technology solutions.
Hensoldt is contributing its radar technologies, including the Quadome 3D air and sea surveillance radar and the TRS-4D naval radar, both of which incorporate advanced software-defined AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) technology. The TRS-4D radar series is already deployed on various ships of the German Navy, such as the F125 frigate and the K130 corvette. In addition to radars, Hensoldt provides an array of systems for the maritime sector, including the Integrated Navigation Bridge System (INBS) and maritime electromagnetic warfare systems.
ADSB's CEO, David Massey, remarked that the partnership emphasizes their commitment to delivering groundbreaking maritime technologies. By exploring new avenues of collaboration, they intend to combine their shipbuilding expertise with Hensoldt's advanced sensor solutions to meet the evolving needs of the maritime defense sector.
Russell Gould, Head of Global Business Development at Hensoldt, expressed that the marine sector is pivotal to their business success. The partnership with Abu Dhabi Ship Building allows Hensoldt to offer state-of-the-art maritime solutions and expand its presence in new markets.
