Kewatec Shipyards, a Finnish shipbuilder, has successfully expanded its collaboration with the Icelandic Search and Rescue Association (ICE-SAR) by securing a contract for a sixth search and rescue vessel. This deal further strengthens their partnership and solidifies Kewatec's position in the international maritime industry. The latest order will see the construction of a vessel in the Rescue 1700 series, known for its self-righting capabilities. This series is notable for adhering to the latest international and local workboat regulations, ensuring high safety and performance standards. Notably, the vessels meet the rigorous standards set by the Norwegian classification society, DNV. Named 'Bjorg', the latest vessel is the fourth in a six-vessel series that Kewatec Shipyards is delivering for ICE-SAR.
