Fratelli Cosulich Group has announced the expansion of its bunker tanker fleet with the order of a methanol-ready vessel. The Italian shipping company exercised its second option at the Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipbuilding yard in China.
The new vessel will feature a capacity of 7,999 deadweight tons (dwt) and is engineered to meet the stringent International Maritime Organization (IMO) 2 standards for chemical handling. This design will enable it to transport fuel oil, biofuels up to B100, and methanol.
This latest move by Fratelli Cosulich Group highlights the company's commitment to advancing sustainable shipping practices, as they continue to invest in technology that supports environmentally friendly marine fuels.
