TSUNEISHI GROUP (ZHOUSHAN) SHIPBUILDING INC. (TZS) delivered its first methanol dual-fuelled Kamsarmax bulk carrier on 28 Oct 2026, the company announced via Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.'s LinkedIn account. The delivery marks an expansion of TZS's methanol dual-fuel vessel lineup, which previously covered container carriers, into the bulk carrier segment. Kamsarmax vessels are large dry bulk carriers typically sized to handle cargo loading restrictions at the Port of Kamsar in Guinea, and are widely used for transporting coal, iron ore and grain. Methanol dual-fuel propulsion allows a vessel to run on conventional marine fuel or methanol, which can be produced from renewable or low-carbon sources and produces lower emissions of sulphur oxides, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter compared with traditional heavy fuel oil. The technology has gained traction across the shipping industry as owners and operators seek pathways to meet tightening international emissions regulations. Tsuneishi Shipbuilding said TZS would continue developing and constructing vessels aimed at supporting sustainable maritime transport. The company did not disclose the name of the delivered vessel, its owner, or further technical specifications in the announcement, instead directing readers to separate Japanese- and Chinese-language pages for additional details.
