Zhejiang Jiahua Energy Chemical Industry announced on 28 Oct 2026 that it plans to build a 102,000 m³ large-scale liquefied hydrocarbon carrier, with the project approved by the company's Board of Directors. The order has been secured by Jiangnan Shipyard in collaboration with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), with total investment expected not to exceed $165 million and delivery scheduled by 30 Jun 2030. The vessel will primarily serve the company's own operations, transporting large volumes of liquefied hydrocarbon feedstock from overseas to secure a stable raw material supply for its PVC production. Surplus capacity will be made available to domestic refining and petrochemical companies and traders. Zhejiang Jiahua Energy Chemical Industry said building its own ocean-going vessels would better serve its industrial requirements, reduce overall costs, and support synergy across its port storage and logistics segment by boosting the value of its terminal and storage assets. This marks the second liquefied hydrocarbon carrier order announced by the company in the second half of the year. On 22 Aug 2026, Zhejiang Jiahua Energy Chemical Industry announced plans to build one 35,000 cubic meter medium-sized liquefied hydrocarbon carrier, with investment not exceeding 750 million yuan. That vessel will be constructed by Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd. (CIMC SOE) and delivered by 31 Dec 2029.
