Royal T Shipyards of the Netherlands has delivered the shortsea cargo vessel Hav Fles to Faroese operator Navigare Shipping following successful sea trials. The handover took place in Kampen on 21 Oct 2026, with the vessel scheduled to load her first cargo in Rotterdam before entering commercial service. Hav Fles is the second of four shortsea cargo vessels ordered by Navigare in October 2024, marking the company's first newbuilding contract. Her sister ship, Hav Leiti, is already operational, while construction of the remaining two vessels in the series continues at the yard, formerly known as Thecla Bodewes Shipyards. The vessel is fitted with diesel-electric propulsion powered by four generators, allowing power output to be matched to operational demand. Her self-discharging system uses an electrically powered excavator that can run on suitable shore power, reducing reliance on onboard diesel generators during cargo handling. Additional features include a covered foredeck for improved weather protection and bridge-wing control stations to assist manoeuvring during berthing and departure, with accommodation provided for 10 crew members. The four-vessel series was designed in-house by the shipyard and is being built to Bureau Veritas classification requirements and IMO Tier III emission standards.
