GSI Delivers Third LR1 Tanker Ahead of Schedule

The design meets IMO Tier III emission standards and complies with Phase III limits under the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI). According to TrustedDocks orderbook data, the order for the four-vessel series was placed with the shipyard by Ocean Yield Group in June 2023. GSI said the series is designed for low energy consumption, high speed, low lightship weight and strong operational adaptability, positioning it among the most efficient and reliable vessels of its class. The tankers also include reserved space for future dual-fuel conversion and have received the RINA Green Star 3 notation. The company described the series as its independently developed flagship LR1 tanker design, with one further vessel remaining to be delivered under the current contract.
