The feeder container ship segment has been the most popular in new orders this year, with Xclusiv Shipbrokers counting 184 new vessels contracted as of late July 2026, taking the orderbook to 17.5% of the existing fleet in TEU terms. The average age of the existing feeder fleet is estimated at almost 16 years.
