
Samsung Heavy Industries has secured a 484.8 billion Korean Won (328.14 million USD) contract to build a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (LNG-FSRU) for MIS-C Malaysia and Petronas, with delivery set for the first half of 2029. The LNG-FSRU will incorporate Samsung's proprietary S-Regas system, designed to enhance operational efficiency. This contract underscores Samsung Heavy Industries' expanding role in Asia's growing energy sector and its technological capabilities in the global LNG market. From January to April 2026, the company has secured orders for 17 LNG vessels valued at 3.4 billion USD, reflecting its integrated LNG solutions across the value chain. The project will be constructed at Samsung's shipyard in Geoje, South Korea.
