World’s Largest Pure Electric Container Ship Launches in China

of 21.6 meters, it features a battery capacity of approximately 20,000 kWh, enabling zero emissions and zero fuel consumption during operation. Equipped with 10 standardized battery containers and advanced intelligent systems such as autonomous navigation assistance and predictive energy management, the ship is designed for China’s coastal container trades. It is expected to save around 580 tons of fuel and reduce CO₂ emissions by more than 1,400 tons annually. Owned by Ningbo Ocean Shipping, the vessel supports China’s dual carbon strategy and green transformation initiatives. A sister ship, "Ningyuan Diangpeng," will soon join the fleet, further advancing sustainable shipping.
