Jiangnan Shipyard and CSSC Trading signed a contract on 3 Apr 2026 to build two 90,000 cbm very large LPG carriers (VLACs) for Greek shipowner Thenamaris. These vessels are the first collaboration between Jiangnan and Thenamaris and follow recent orders from EPS and Southwest Shipping earlier this year. The new ships feature a low-resistance hull optimized for Old Panamax dimensions, enhancing cargo capacity and fuel efficiency. Powered by LPG dual-fuel engines, the vessels are designed to reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 20% and SOₓ emissions by 99%, meeting EEDI Phase III environmental standards. This order reflects Jiangnan Shipyard's continued expansion in the VLAC segment.
