On June 12th, a naming and launching ceremony was held in Kamaishi, Iwate Prefecture, for the 'Alfonsino Arrow', the first crew transfer vessel (CTV) ordered by NYK from a domestic Japanese shipyard. Built by Kosaba Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., this vessel is specifically designed to support the construction and operation & maintenance (O&M) of offshore wind power facilities in Japan. NYK highlighted that the 'Alfonsino Arrow' marks a significant step forward as a 'Japan-spec' CTV, adapted to the unique sea and weather conditions of Japan, and will play a key role in the country’s renewable energy sector.
