Jiangnan Shipyard in China has unveiled the world’s first 192,000 cubic meter B-type tank electric-propulsion LNG carrier design. The innovative vessel, which recently received Approval in Principle (AiP) from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), marks a significant milestone in the evolution of large LNG shipping technology. The carrier features the advanced BrilliancE® containment system, previously used in Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs), now adapted for LNG carriers. This achievement highlights China's ongoing leadership in maritime innovation and decarbonisation.
