Østensjø Rederi has entered into a newbuild contract with GONDAN Shipbuilders for the construction of a state-of-the-art offshore tug. The vessel, designed by Skipsteknisk as the ST 933 model, will be the largest and most powerful tug ever built by Østensjø. Scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2028, the new tug aims to enhance the company’s offshore towage fleet. Kristian Helland Vea, CEO of Østensjø Rederi, highlighted the importance of the project, stating it will deliver the capacity and reliability needed to meet future demands in offshore tug operations.
