Färjerederiet's ferry NEPTUNUS will soon be equipped with a new battery-hybrid propulsion system and advanced automation technology, following the award of a SEK 97 million contract to Stockholm Repairyard. Zeabuz and Metstech will supply the essential automation and battery systems, transforming NEPTUNUS for enhanced safety, efficiency, and environmental performance on the Gullmarsleden route between Finnsbo and Skår in Bohuslän, Sweden. The upgrade includes an autonomous transit system for precise navigation and energy optimization, and a rapid-charging battery installation. Work will be carried out at Stockholm Repair Yard, setting a new standard for sustainable public ferry operations.
