International Team Selected to Build Six Arctic Security Cutters for U.S. Coast Guard

The first three vessels will be constructed simultaneously at Rauma in Finland and Bollinger in the United States, while production of the remaining three vessels will take place in the U.S. Delivery of the initial three vessels is anticipated within 36 months. The ASC fleet, designed to break four feet of ice and operate for over 60 days, is intended to support U.S. polar capacity, national defense, and scientific research in the Arctic. The initiative also aims to enhance collaboration with the Canadian Coast Guard and strengthen the U.S. industrial shipbuilding base.
