The build contract for the Inselexpress 3 (IE3), a new high-speed ferry, has been officially signed. Following the successful launch of its sister ship, IE2, earlier this year, the project marks a continued partnership between AG Reederei Norden-Frisia and Next Generation Shipyards. Construction of the IE3 will begin soon, with delivery expected before the 2026 high season. The ferry is designed for efficient, environmentally conscious travel and will primarily serve routes between Norddeich and Juist, with additional services to Norderney. The vessel's shallow draft and modern drive system aim to improve access and reliability for island communities and visitors.
