East Coast Repair & Fabrication, Lyon Shipyard, BayTec Marine, and Colonna’s Shipyard Inc. have collectively been awarded a U.S. Navy contract valued at $262.4 million. These Virginia-based companies are tasked with the repair, maintenance, modernization, and sustainment of shipyard messing and berthing barges. The contracts were procured through a small business set-aside via the System for Award Management website, and a total of eleven bids were received. The work is focused within a 50-mile radius of Norfolk, Virginia, with a performance period extending until July 15, 2030. The award amounts for each company vary, with East Coast Repair & Fabrication receiving $210.4 million, Lyon Shipyard $211.3 million, BayTec Marine $219.9 million, and Colonna’s Shipyard $262.4 million. The Navy allocated $12,000 from its fiscal year 2025 operations and maintenance funds to each company for their contract minimum guarantees. The Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center in Norfolk is responsible for the contracting activity, affirming the Navy's commitment to upgrading and maintaining its operational infrastructure along the East Coast.
