Van Wijngaarden Marine Services has entered into a Letter of Intent with Kooiman Marine Group for the development of a new DP2 Multi Purpose Vessel (MPV) 4716. The intended collaboration marks a significant step in Van Wijngaarden Marine Services' ongoing efforts toward enhancing innovation, sustainability, and operational range in its fleet.
The proposed design integrates cutting-edge technologies for emission reduction, including compliance with IMO Tier III standards and Ultra Low Emission Vessel (ULEV) criteria. A key feature of the MPV is its diesel-electric/hybrid propulsion system, indicating a move toward more environmentally responsible maritime operations.
The vessel boasts a length of 47.00 meters, a beam of 16.00 meters, and a draft of 2.60 meters. Key features include DP2 class capabilities with hybrid diesel-electric propulsion, two deck cranes with 17-ton capacity, and a potent tow/AH winch. Accommodations are designed for a crew of 27, with a mix of single and double occupancy cabins.
Built for versatility, the MPV is positioned to perform efficiently across various operational domains, including shallow water navigation, anchor handling, subsea endeavors, and support of offshore and renewable energy undertakings. With its compact yet robust design, the new vessel promises to broaden the scope of services offered by Van Wijngaarden Marine Services on a global scale.
Kooiman Marine Group , known for its custom-built vessels, will oversee the design, construction, and delivery processes.
