Sun Enterprises, a prominent Greek shipowner, has recently announced a significant fleet expansion by commissioning two new suezmaxes from DH Shipbuilding in South Korea. This move marks the company's return to South Korean shipyards, where it has traditionally built most of its tankers. Each of the suezmax tankers, designed to operate on LNG dual-fuel, is priced at $90.5 million. These new additions, set to be delivered in 2027, will be the first vessels that Sun Enterprises has ordered in nearly a decade, reflecting a strategic push toward modernizing its fleet. The company currently operates 16 tankers, including three suezmaxes. This latest order follows their 2019 procurement of aframaxes from Daehan Shipbuilding, now rebranded as DH Shipbuilding. The order underscores the shipping company's continuing commitment to expanding its operations and enhancing its fleet capabilities.
