On 1 April 2018, Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd became a holding company and changed its name to Mitsui E&S Holdings Co., Ltd It has also established fully-owned specialist operating companies, split into Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding Co., Ltd (MES-S), Mitsui E&S Machinery Co., Ltd (MES-M) and Mitsui E&S Engineering Co., Ltd (MES-E). MES-S operates Tamano Shipyard, Chiba Shipyard and MES-KHI Yura Dock Co. Ltd. With over 100 years’ history in shipbuilding, MES-S has been committed to the pursuit of advanced technology and supplying high- performance and quality products. MES-S continues to contribute to safe and economical marine transportation through the construction of high-performance and quality products, meeting the demands of the times. MES-M is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of diesel engines, both in total output and technology, especially for meeting environmental regulations. By September 2015, the aggregate power output of MES-M built B&W diesels reached 90 million PS (Pferdestarke). Mitsui E&S Group has integrated capabilities backed by its highly reliable technology.
