Samsung Heavy Industries Wins $320 Million Container Ship Order

Including offshore contracts, Samsung Heavy Industries' total order intake for the year has reached approximately $10.5 billion, or 76% of its overall annual target of $13.9 billion. A company representative said demand for fleet renewal with eco-friendly vessels has driven strong ordering activity for container ships in the 8,000 to 13,000 TEU range. Having already surpassed its annual target for the commercial shipbuilding division, the company said it will now prioritize selective orders that emphasize profitability over volume.
