Ardmore Shipping Completes Six-Tanker Order at Wuhu Yard

That price included roughly $3 million per ship for full IMO2 specification and MarineLine tank coatings, giving the vessels flexibility to carry either clean petroleum products or higher-spec chemical cargoes. The company exercised the first pair of options in June, expanding the orderbook to four ships, while also securing rights for two additional vessels on similar terms. Based on the disclosed pricing for the initial vessels, the latest pair represents about $89.8 million in additional investment, bringing the complete six-ship programme to roughly $269.4 million. The Wuhu series forms a central part of Ardmore's fleet renewal strategy. The company has also taken advantage of strong secondhand tanker values, agreeing earlier this year to sell a 2014-built MR tanker for $35.5 million.
