Jinrun Shunyu has placed an order with Jiangsu Runyang Shipbuilding for two firm plus two optional 3,300-TEU feeder container ships, with deliveries scheduled for 2028. The order was disclosed by shipping broker Bancosta. The deal marks the second batch of shipbuilding contracts announced recently by Jiangsu Runyang Shipbuilding. Last month, during the 2026 Yangzhou High-Tech Ship and Marine Engineering Equipment Industry Investment Promotion Conference, the yard signed contracts for ten additional vessels across three categories: two rocket launch and recovery vessels
for Hainan International Commercial Aerospace Launch Co., Ltd., along with four 5,700 CEU Ro-Ro vessels and four 115,000 DWT Aframax tankers ordered by Zhongnan Shipping. Runyang Shipbuilding's portfolio includes the Xingji Guihang, or Interstellar Return, described as China's first non-self-propelled vessel built specifically for the maritime recovery of launch vehicles. The ship measures 100 meters in length, 42 meters in beam and 6.5 meters in depth, with a design displacement of about 18,000 tonnes and a recovery deck area of 2,400 square meters, and is intended to support recovery and reuse of various medium-to-large reusable rockets. Founded in 2004 as Yangzhou Zhaoguan Shipyard Co., Ltd., Runyang Shipbuilding is a private shipbuilder based in Jiangdu District, Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, capable of building vessels up to 100,000 deadweight tons, including deck cargo ships, container ships, tankers, chemical carriers, rocket recovery vessels and offshore engineering vessels. The company currently holds an order book exceeding 30 ships, with deliveries extending through 2028.
