Aqmaris Orders 12 Ultramax Bulk Carriers from Chinese Yards

Ultramax bulk carriers will be constructed by Qidong Xiangyu Shipbuilding. The first four vessels, hull numbers XYQD-031, XYQD-039, XYQD-040, and XYQD-041, are expected to be delivered before the fourth quarter of 2028, while the other four will be handed over in 2029. This order reflects Aqmaris Gemi’s expansion plans and commitment to modernizing its fleet. Ultramax bulk carriers typically have a deadweight tonnage of around 60,000 to 65,000 DWT, making them versatile for various bulk cargoes. The deliveries spread over 2028 and 2029 will enhance Aqmaris Gemi’s capacity in the dry bulk sector. This move also highlights ongoing strong demand for newbuild bulk carriers in the global shipping market.
