Netherlands-based BigLift Shipping and South Korea's Chung Yang Shipping (CY Shipping) have taken delivery of the first vessel in a new series of heavy lift ships. The vessel, named CY Frontier, was constructed by Jing Jiang Nanyang Shipbuilding in China and is designed to meet the increasing
demand for transporting large offshore, energy, and industrial modules. Construction of the remaining three vessels in the series is progressing on schedule. The partners anticipate that the second vessel, BigLift Pioneer, will be delivered later this year. By mid-2028, CY Shipping and BigLift Shipping plan to operate a joint fleet comprising eight heavy lift vessels. This new series reflects the growing market need for specialized transportation solutions in the offshore and industrial sectors. The collaboration between BigLift Shipping and CY Shipping aims to strengthen their capabilities and service offerings in heavy lift logistics.
