Greek shipowner Enesel Group has expanded its dry bulk fleet by placing orders for eight new vessels at two Chinese shipyards. The contracts include four 63,500 DWT Ultramax bulk carriers to be built at Jiangsu Haitong Shipyard and four 181,500 DWT Capesize bulk carriers at Hengli Heavy Industry. The newbuilds are
scheduled for phased delivery between the second half of 2027 and the first half of 2028. This expansion reflects Enesel Group's ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence in the dry bulk shipping sector. Ultramax vessels typically serve a variety of cargoes and routes, while Capesize bulk carriers are among the largest dry bulk ships, primarily transporting commodities like iron ore and coal. By diversifying its fleet with both vessel types, Enesel aims to enhance operational flexibility and capacity. These orders mark a significant investment in modern tonnage, aligning with industry trends toward larger, more efficient ships to meet global shipping demand.
