HaiSea Marine General Partner has contracted SANMAR SHIPYARD TUZLA to build a 40-metre diesel hybrid escort tug to expand its fleet in British Columbia, Canada. The vessel, designed by Robert Allan Ltd as the RAstar 4000, will feature a bollard pull of up to 100
tonnes, a beam of 16 metres, and a draught of 7 metres. It will accommodate six to nine crew members and have a top speed of 14.5 knots with a diesel fuel capacity of 357 cubic metres. Delivery is scheduled between January and December 2027. This order is part of HaiSea Marine's ongoing expansion to support LNG carriers and terminal operations in western Canada, complementing their existing fleet of electric and dual-fuel tugs. The investment aligns with growing LNG terminal construction and towage service demands in the region.
