SAMSUNG HEAVY INDUSTRIES CO LTD has secured an order from Purus Marine Services Ltd for two LNG carriers. The vessels will have a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters each and will be powered by dual-fuel LNG engines. The contract was signed on 5 June 2026, with deliveries scheduled between 1 and 31 January 2029. The order was officially reported on 8 June 2026. These LNG carriers will be built at Samsung Heavy Industries' Geoje shipyard, reinforcing the company's position in the LNG shipping market. The dual-fuel capability aligns with industry trends toward cleaner maritime fuels. This contract adds to Samsung Heavy Industries' portfolio of large-scale LNG carrier projects.
