Germany’s Reederei NORD GmbH has placed an order for up to four 210,000 DWT bulk carriers at WUHU SHIPYARD CO LTD, marking its first newbuilding deal in over a decade. The vessels, classified as Newcastlemax bulk carriers, will be powered by conventional fuel. Delivery is scheduled between January 2028 and December 2029. The Hamburg-based company is entering the large bulk carrier segment with this order and has already secured employment contracts for the new ships. This move represents a strategic expansion for Reederei NORD into larger vessel classes after a significant period without newbuild orders.
