**Trafigura Orders Two VLCCs at Jiangsu New Hantong** Swiss commodities trader Trafigura has contracted China’s Jiangsu New Hantong Ship Heavy Industry on 24 Nov 2025 to build two additional 319,000 dwt very large crude carriers, raising its order tally at the yard to 10. Under the contract, the two 319,000 dwt VLCC crude carriers will join eight sister ships already on order at the yard in Jiangsu province. Trafigura, which owns and operates its fleet of tankers, placed the order to support its trading operations. The order raises Trafigura’s total VLCC newbuildings at Jiangsu New Hantong to 10 vessels, following earlier contracts for eight similar ships. Delivery of the first vessel is scheduled for 2029, with the second due in 2030.
