FMT Shipyard & Repair in Harvey, La., has delivered the 1,600-hp towboat Ann Nash to Maritime Partners of Metairie, La., the fourth vessel the yard has completed for the marine leasing company. The 52.5-foot twin-screw towboat has a 19.6-foot beam and a 3.3-foot draft. Propulsion comes from two Mitsubishi S6R2 Tier 3 engines, each rated at 803 hp at 1,400 rpm, supplied by Laborde Products of Covington, La., which also provided two 65-kW generator sets for onboard power. The Ann Nash joins the Deirdre Ann, Beth Williams and Lulu Hamilton in a series of vessels FMT has built for Maritime Partners, with recent boats in the program sharing the same Mitsubishi S6R2 propulsion platform for consistency across the fleet. Chris Miller, director of newbuild programs at Maritime Partners, said continuing to work with experienced partners helps maintain consistency throughout the newbuild program while delivering dependable vessels. Bradley Matte, Gulf Coast Territory Sales Manager at Laborde Products, said close collaboration with Maritime Partners and FMT from application through delivery ensured the propulsion package met the vessel's operational requirements. FMT operates its shipyard on the Harvey Canal between the Mississippi River and the Intracoastal Waterway, with three floating dry docks supporting new construction, fabrication, maintenance and repair. Maritime Partners, founded in 2015, provides vessel leasing and financing for the domestic maritime industry and reports a fleet of more than 1,900 vessels, including towboats totaling more than 220,000 hp combined.
