**Trafigura Orders Two VLCCs from New Hantong**
Trafigura has placed an additional order for two 319,000 dwt Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) with New Hantong Ship Heavy Industry in China on 25 Nov 2025. The newbuildings are scheduled for delivery in 2029 and 2030 and bring Trafigura’s total VLCC orders with the shipyard to ten units. Based on previous contracts, each vessel is valued at approximately USD 120 million, for a total estimated contract value of USD 1.2 billion. The vessels will be designed to meet the latest International Maritime Organization environmental and energy efficiency standards. This order follows earlier contracts signed since 2024 and reflects the industry’s move toward larger, more efficient tankers. Delivery of the first batch begins in 2026.
