Densay Shipping, a Dubai-based Turkish shipowner, has expanded its move into the tanker sector by ordering two additional MR newbuildings from China's Wuhu Shipyard. These latest 50,000 dwt vessels, scheduled for delivery in 2027, are optional units following an earlier four-tanker order placed at the end of 2024, with the original batch set for delivery in 2026. This brings Densay’s tally at Wuhu to six tankers, signaling a significant expansion from its traditional dry bulk operations. The company, led by Tayfun Gunerhan, is also chartering an MR tanker from Japan’s Imabari Shipbuilding for delivery in mid-2026. In addition, Densay recently sold its 2010-built tanker T Matterhorn for over $20 million.
